This digital library forms an Ibero-American network of full-text scientific journal collections, open to all and free of charge. The journals that make up the SciELO-Argentina collection cover all the knowledge areas and have the reputability of being part of the Núcleo Básico de Revistas Científicas Argentinas [Basic Nucleus of Argentine Scientific Journals] and the scientific rigor of its articles reviewed by peers who are members of the Scientific Advisory Committee appointed by the CONICET. The editorial quality of the journals is permanently assessed at the CAICYT Scientific Publications Department according to the LATINDEX Excellence Criteria: Level 1/ Latindex CATALOGUE.

Núcleo Básico de Revistas Científicas Argentinas – Caicyt/Conicet (Argentina)
[Basic Nucleus of Argentine Scientific Journals]

The Núcleo Básico de Revistas Científicas Argentinas is a project of the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas Técnicas de Argentina (Conicet) [National Council of Scientific and Technical Research] establishing a set of Argentine scientific and technological publications in different fields of knowledge that are subject to a comprehensive evaluation with unique and defined quality and transcendence criteria.

LILACS is one of the Open Access scientific literature databases of the Virtual Health Library Network coordinated by BIREME-PAHO/WHO http://lilacs.bvsalud.org/es/

LILACS is integrated by 36 countries of the region; it has over 560K bibliographic records of articles in Spanish, Portuguese and English published in approximately 1 500 journals about Health Sciences, of which approximately 831 are currently indexed.

Latindex – Sistema Regional de Información en Línea para Revistas Científicas de América Latina, el Caribe, España y Portugal (México) [Online Regional Information System for Scientific Journals from Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal] (Mexico)

Latindex is the result of the cooperation of a network of institutions working in a coordinated fashion to gather and disseminate bibliographic information on serial scientific publications produced in the region. Latindex is an information system for scientific research, technical-professional, scientific and cultural dissemination journals edited in the countries of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal. The idea of creating Latindex emerged in 1995 at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México [National Autonomous University of Mexico] (UNAM) and became a regional cooperation network in 1997. Currently, Latindex offers four databases: 1) Directory, with bibliographic and contact data for all registered journals published either in print or digital format; 2) Catalogue, including only -print or digital- journals that comply with the editorial quality criteria designed by Latindex; 3) Online journals, allowing access to full texts in available websites, 4) Portal of Portals, allowing access to the full text of selected Ibero-American journals available on the most important portals of the region.

REDIB – Red Iberoamericana de Innovación y Conocimiento Científico (España) [Ibero-American Network for Innovation and Scientific Knowledge] (Spain)

REDIB is a platform for aggregating scientific and academic content in electronic format produced in the Ibero-American space.  REDIB has a clear vocation for promoting technological innovation in publishing production tools. These facilitate access, dissemination and improvement of scientific production generated in the countries within reach, particularly in their different languages. The recipients of this information are both the academic community and the general society, as well as managers, analysts and those responsible for scientific policies. The Internet ensures the global reach of this information.

Índice de Revistas Lationaomericanas en Ciencias – México [Index of Latin American Journals in Sciences (Mexico)]

Periódica is a bibliographic database created in 1978 at the National Autonomous University of Mexico [Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México] (UNAM)]. It contains bibliographical records of original articles, technical reports, case studies, statistics, and other documents published in around 1 500 journals of Latin America and the Caribbean, specialized in science and technology.

Directory of Open Access Journals

The DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) was launched in 2003 with 300 open access journals. This independent database currently contains more than 15 000 peer-reviewed open access journals covering all areas of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts and humanities.

VHL Regional Portal

The VHL Regional Portal is an integrated space of health information sources that promotes democratization and increased access to scientific and technical health information in Latin America and the Caribbean. Its collection of sources of information consists of bibliographic databases produced by the VHL Network, such as LILACS, MEDLINE and, in the case of Argentina, the BVS Msal records of the Ministry of Health of Argentina, and those of the Bibliografía Nacional de Ciencias de la Salud (BINACIS) [National Bibliography of Health Sciences] and other sources of information such as open educational resources, Internet sites and scientific events. The portal is managed by the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences (BIREME/PAHO-WHO).
